Our Promise
Why Choose Kurk Homes in Texas

Communication

One of the most important aspects of the building process is communication. It helps us ensure the integrity of your new home, whether it is you, our valued customer, or the many engineers, manufacturers, contractors, and inspectors we work with.

No Surprises

You have the right to know exactly what materials and specifications will be utilized in the building of your custom home, so we urge all of our customers to thoroughly read Kurk Homes Features and Specifications booklet.

We also want to be very clear to our “Build on Your Lot” customers about any areas which may add costs to the construction process since every lot size and topography is different.

Flexibility

Kurk Homes offers you flexibility not found with large “Build on Your Lot” companies. We actually enjoy the challenge and take pride in the one-on-one relationships between builder and homeowner that is lacking in the production home arena. You are encouraged to make changes that suit your needs and desires.

By properly planning and documenting these changes, we avoid lengthy delays in the construction of your new home.

No Short Cuts

Kurk Homes will strive to build your new home as quickly as possible, but we won’t cut corners or sacrifice quality. We take the time to ensure that your home is built just the way you want it from start to finish. Our meticulous inspection process even includes a T.R.E.C. code certified inspector for the final walkthrough.

What if we don’t find a plan we like?

Kurk Homes does not believe you should have to settle for a builder’s particular house plan. With Kurk Homes, you can modify any plan to suit your needs. If you choose, our award-winning designers will create a totally unique plan, designed from the ground up to fit your needs. Working through Kurk Homes, the cost for a custom plan will be 40% less than dealing with a home designer or architect directly. And, when you build with Kurk Homes, the plans are free.

How long does it take to build a custom home?

Kurk Homes will work with you to build your home as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality. From the time we pour the foundation, barring weather or trade delays, we estimate a 7-month actual construction time.

Does Kurk Homes offer financing?

Though we do not have “in house” financing, most of our customers work with our preferred lenders in order to get quality service and the best possible interest rates.

How much does a Kurk Home cost?

Dependent on the design of the home, location, foundation requirements, interior design and level of finishes, costs vary from the high $500s - $1.5 million. Contact us to discuss the details of your project.

What additional costs will I incur building on my lot, which are not included with Kurk Homes Standard Features?

A) Depending on the severity of the slope on your lot, you may need a compacted foundation pad, a deeper foundation design, or a combination of the two. Site cost evaluations are strongly recommended at the beginning of the process, so that these numbers can be included in your total investment.
B) If there is limited access to your property or your building line is more than 50' from the front property line, an additional temporary construction road will be needed. Kurk Homes offers 1200 sq ft of flatwork as a Standard Feature. Longer or horse-shoe driveways will cost more.
C) Each community has its own set of requirements and has unique arrangements with utility companies and these costs may vary.
D) County, community, municipality, or state requirements specific to your property, including culverts.
E) Flood, Windstorm, etc. build requirements & flood insurance for your property. Kurk Homes has a Builders Risk policy on each home under construction, that stays in place from the time of the foundation pour to substantial completion.
F) Community, City, or POA/HOA requirements for plan approvals, deposits, mailboxes, landscaping, etc.
G) A current boundary survey and (at completion) final survey - both with benefit of title - and any other survey or elevation certificate as required by a flood plain or city municipality.
